Taxi drivers in Mumbai railed against a state government order that they must be able to speak the local language, in the latest outbreak of regionalist feuding in the city. The Maharashtra state government will grant licences to taxi drivers who speak Marathi language, effectively excluding the many migrants who pour into the city from elsewhere in India. The tens of thousands of distinctive black-and-yellow vehicles that ply the roads are often driven by Indians who have recently moved to Mumbai, the country’s most cosmopolitan city. This is undemocratic and unwarranted against people seeking to earn a living. Taxi unions are now considering a strike or legal moves. Some local religious parties in Mumbai have led an anti-migrant campaign in recent years, saying they wish to defend the rights of Marathi-speaking locals. Analysts see the state government’s move as an attempt to counter the popularity of the right-wing Maharashtra Navnirman Sena party. If all the capital places of the states of India is coming up with such an issue this will lead to many regional fights, and it’s sure that this will affect the integrity of our great nation. A Cuban film directed by Tomas Gutierrez Alea ,tells the story of a Sergio a bourgeois who remains in Havana after the revolution .he has no values for relations and is not able to understand his own family. He is living in Havana during the invasion of the Bay of Pigs and the 1962 missile crisis which he can relate with his own family life. A beautiful black and white movie which highlights the character of a bourgeois, who is caught between the two worlds. This film is considered to be the first internationally accepted Cuban cinema.

A German film directed by Margarethe von trotta,a woman who is considered to be the face of new German cinema tells her film as “the impossible quest for female identity, both barred by and founded upon the interdependence of women”. it is the story of Hildegard von bingen who is a visionary nun. She is an all rounder; a doctor ,a musician ,a poet, a writer and what not. She brought a new dimension to devotion and this was protested by male dominated society. Her visions brought out Europe from its darkness to enlightenment in every aspect.
