A Cuban film directed by Tomas Gutierrez Alea ,tells the story of a Sergio a bourgeois who remains in Havana after the revolution .he has no values for relations and is not able to understand his own family. He is living in Havana during the invasion of the Bay of Pigs and the 1962 missile crisis which he can relate with his own family life. A beautiful black and white movie which highlights the character of a bourgeois, who is caught between the two worlds. This film is considered to be the first internationally accepted Cuban cinema.

A German film directed by Margarethe von trotta,a woman who is considered to be the face of new German cinema tells her film as “the impossible quest for female identity, both barred by and founded upon the interdependence of women”. it is the story of Hildegard von bingen who is a visionary nun. She is an all rounder; a doctor ,a musician ,a poet, a writer and what not. She brought a new dimension to devotion and this was protested by male dominated society. Her visions brought out Europe from its darkness to enlightenment in every aspect.

In world cinema, Thailand films has its own importance, and that is guaranteed by Pen-ek ratanaruang .An introvert named kenji who is a librarian tries to commit suicide during his holidays in his apartment. But his attempt is always interrupted by some one or the other. But his attitude towards life changes when he saw the death of a girl named nid. This makes kenji and noi who is the sister of nid come closer toward each other, thus finding a solution for their emptiness in life. It is filmed in such a way that dialogue has less importance. An excellent movie which recites the meaningless existence of life.

24 CITY (JIA ZHANG KE)

A Chinese film directed by Jia Zhang Ke, tells us about the fall of a munitions factory and its transformation to a luxurious building, it is a documentary film which is portrayed in a different style. The director tells the story of a three generations of factory workers through talking to them. a documentary is supposed to be a real thing in which there is no actors but only real people. It is difficult to make out that those people who narrate the story of the factory are not at all workers but artists.I thinks this is the peculiarity of the film. The film is named 24 city is because the site where the factory is situated is been transformed to an apartment named “24city”.

A Kazak movie which has all the essence of a film blended with music. The film is about a legend named Birzhan sal,who sings and composes music. a person who want to know about kazhakistan can watch this as it has all the information starting from its costumes, language to the blessed beauty of the land. It is picturized in such a way that there is no other place ravishingly excel than Kazhakistan.The story is about the conflict between honor , disrespect ,pride ,patience ,love and many more. But all together it is really a wonderful experience to watch such a beautiful movie.

There is no doubt why this movie claim to be one of the best movies of world cinema .I don’t know how to explain this movie, starting from the way they gives out the title,credits;they did it in an extraordinary way. First thing i want to tell you is YOU MUST WATCH THIS MOVIE. I’m sure u will have a great time. a Romanian film by a team of mavericks, which sarcastically portrays the final 15years of Ceausescu regime in Romania which claims to be the GOLDEN AGE by history. The film has only one thing to say, ie food, freedom n survivals are more important than anything else. the story is told in chapter wise n it depicts in connection with common man’s life. The major portion is comic, satire etc ,But it has the pain of the civilians of Romania .Really it is an experimental film by all sense.

DREAMS (KIM KI DUK)

This is the first time I’m watching a movie which has so much of fantasy in it. After watching this movie I questioned myself that, will such things happens in real life. But no one else can think as the director Kim Ki Duk .In this film we can’t find a protagonist, every role is really important.jin wakes up from a nightmare of a traffic accident and he goes to the very place n checks it whether it had happened or not. There he experiences something which he is not able to believe at first. His dream has a connection with another girl’s mind. Whatever he dreams, the girl unconsciously acts it. It is such a wonderful mystery which turns to romance and it ends in such a way that we don’t feel sorry for them as they unites after their death .I felt it as an excellent movie which has all the mysteries of life.
